My designs for Michael Kors' 2022 Diwali Collection are an amalgamation of nostalgic themes and modern forms. They capture Diwali's grandeur, vibrance, and vivacity in bright colours, earthy tones and intricate motifs that resonate with Indians everywhere.

Small Illustrations․
…with lotus, elephants, sparkles (abstract), and other ideas
The small illustrations explore 4 traditional Indian motifs: the lotus, elephant, sparkles, and lantern. Each motif is interpreted with 3 unique illustrations.
A vibrant colour palette catches the eye, complementing the product’s design, while subtle introductions of metallic gold yield a shimmering surprise.
Each illustration grows in complexity over 3 stages, giving customers the freedom of personalization. Lines and simple shapes are gradually introduced, and the final stage incorporates floral elements for a visual synergy with the scripts.
Devanagari Script․
…with minimal floral illustrations
The Devanagari script uses a simple font in metallic gold, its minimalism ensuring harmony with the MK print. Yet, it is still stylistically bold enough to provide a unique touch.
The script’s trails and strokes give the impression of purity, confidence, and elegance, while the flora that weaves through the characters juxtaposes the traditional script with novelty and modernity - creating a mix of classic and contemporary, similar to the small illustrations.
English Script․
…with minimal floral illustrations
The English script uses a classic serif font in metallic gold, its minimalism ensuring harmony with the MK print. Yet, it is still stylistically bold enough to provide a unique touch.
Although serifs are considered ‘traditional’, the flora that weaves through the characters juxtaposes the simple script with novelty and modernity - creating a mix of classic and contemporary, similar to the small illustrations.
